CSR
GULF aims to be model for sustainable growth,
especially in the energy industry. We have always stood by our commitment to upholding the
principles of corporate social responsibility. Thus, the Company has engaged in a number of
social development initiatives under the concept “Powering the future, empowering the
people” in order to enhance people’s quality of life both inside and outside the
organization. GULF places emphasis on enhancing people’s well-being, in particular for
employees and local communities, supporting projects to raise their quality of life together
with developing skills and knowledge, as well as encouraging environmental conservation and
responsible resource management. Over the past year, GULF has been involved in over 100
social responsibility projects.
Employees

GULF takes care of the well-being of its employees, including both physical and
mental health. We therefore support a variety of activities including sports clubs
such as yoga, football and running, as well as regular internal sports events such
as badminton, golf and darts competitions and a biennial company-wide sports day.

GULF implemented a human resource development plan in order to aid all employees
in developing skills and knowledge necessary for career advancement such as the Mini
MBA program.

GULF understands that positive work environment is a key factor in supporting
enjoyment and happiness at work. We therefore conduct numerous activities to engage
all employees on special days and occasions such as Lunar New Year Day, Valentine’s
Day, and Christmas Day.
Health

Gulf supported the Rama Medical School by sponsoring the purchase of 200 portable
wireless ultrasound machines for medical students, worth 12 million THB.

GULF presented a donation to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol
University to fund the procurement of ventilators and Extracorporeal Membrane
Oxygenation (ECMO) machines that are able to provide prolonged cardiac and
respiratory support to patients whose heart and lungs are unable to fully function.
This much-needed medical equipment is vital and in short supply amidst the novel
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.

GULF presented a donation to Rajavithi Hospital, Bamrasnaradura Infectious
Diseases Institute and the Central Chest Institute of Thailand to fund the
procurement of lifesaving medical equipment for COVID-19 patients and those whose
heart and lungs are unable to fully function. The much-needed equipment includes
high flow oxygen therapy devices, Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP)
machines, transport ventilators, and central patient monitoring stations.

GULF collaborated with the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University in
initiating the ‘GULF Sparks Smiles’ offsite dental clinic campaign, which was
launched to proactively provide free dental treatments for patients in areas located
far from public health centers and whom have suffered from the COVID-19 crisis. The
campaign covers services such as fillings, tooth extractions, and scaling as well as
more complex procedures like wisdom tooth removals.

GULF donated over 100,000 KN95 medical masks to Phramongkutklao Hospital, King
Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, and other hospitals in need.

GULF presented a central monitor and bedside monitors to the Police General Hospital
for use in the hospital’s intensive care units (ICU).
Sports

GULF collaborated with Buriram United Company Limited, aka Buriram United Football
Club, Thailand’s leading professional football club in conducting the "Gulf Football
Camp" project. The project aims included renovating the community’s old football
field and holding a trial tournament to recruit rising stars of young footballers,
along another two from Buriram United Academy, who were sent to join an
apprenticeship with Borussia Dortmund, the famous Bundesliga champions.

GULF supported the broadcast of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Thailand, making all
matches available to view for free across the country.

GULF provides sponsorship to major Thailand League football teams including the
SCG Muangthong United, Buriram United and Bangkok FC football clubs, as well as
smaller teams in the Thai League 2, Thai League 3 and Thai League 4 divisions.
Environment

GULF provided support in conjunction with the Aob Chang Group to help elephants,
the national symbol of Thailand, by donating medicine and veterinary supplies as
well as donating money to the Thai Elephant Alliance Association in Chiangmai
Province.

GULF established the Demonstration Farm project at the Gulf Nong Saeng (GNS) power
plant, located in Nong Saeng district, Saraburi province. The project was originally
developed as greenspace near the Company’s GNS power plant to serve as a
demonstration farm and learning center for organic agriculture and new theory
agriculture.

Gulf established the Wind and Water Detectives youth environment program in 2011
to teach children about environmental issues and how to monitor air and water
quality through observation of the environment. The program, which was piloted at
the Koke Yae power plant, has now been expanded to all of the Company’s power
plants. To date, over 1000 students have participated in the Wind and Water
Detectives program with Gulf.
Education

GULF granted scholarships to Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center, King
Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, under the campaign “ A
Scholarship for A Brighter Future”. The need-based scholarship will be managed by
the committee and allocated according to each patient’s differing socio-economic
needs. Gulf Group has committed to providing educational funding for a 4-year period
(2020-2023), following a pilot project granting scholarships in 2019.

GULF places importance on supporting education and life-long learning. Thus, the
Company provides merit- and need-based scholarships for students studying at
Chulalongkorn University.

GULF made a number of donations for the purchase of educational equipment as well
as the renovation or construction of school buildings such as the construction of
the classrooms, infirmary, computer lab and multi-purpose building for the Baan Lad
Rua Border Patrol Police School in Chart Trakarn district, Phitsanuloke province.
Others

GULF provided over 150,000 pre-packed meal boxes to 27 communities in Bangkok to
alleviate the difficulties these groups faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
