Gulf BL, which is a subsidiary of Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited, successfully started commercial operation to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on September 1, 2018 under the Small Power Producer program. Gulf BL, located in Hi-Tech Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya, generates installed power capacity of 126.8 megawatts and installed steam capacity of 10.0 tons per hour.

The power plant supplies 90 megawatts of electricity to EGAT under a 25-year power purchase agreement. The remaining power and steam generation capacity will be supplied to industrial users through secured long-term contracts. GBL is the seventh from the total twelve Small Power Producers (SPP) while the remaining five will begin commercial operation between November 2018 and July 2019.
