GULF and Dent Chula Join Forces for Better Oral Health with GULF Sparks Smiles’ Final Push for 2024

Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) and the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University (Dent Chula), have continuously implemented the “GULF Sparks Smiles” in its fourth installment of the year at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University on October 17, 2024, providing free dental services, including tooth fillings, tooth extractions, scaling, fluoride coating, X-rays, and wisdom tooth extractions by expert dentists, together with volunteers from GULF and students from the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, to provide care and knowledge to those who come to receive services at various service points. Services offered included tooth fillings, extractions, scaling, fluoride coating, X-rays, and wisdom tooth extractions. A team of expert dentists, GULF volunteers, and Dent Chula students worked together to provide comprehensive care and dental health education to patients of all ages.

Prof. Pornchai Jansisyanont, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University,said, “The final GULF Sparks Smiles initiative of 2024, held on National Dental Hygiene Day, maximized our resources at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Dentistry. We treated over 1,100 patients, from young children to seniors, providing essential dental services such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings. Beyond treatment, we emphasized oral health education to empower individuals to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent future dental problems. We are committed to continuing this impactful partnership with GULF to further enhance oral health care in Thailand.”

Tanit Arunratanothai, a volunteer dentist at the children’s patient checkpoint,shared, “GULF Sparks Smiles offers a dedicated service point for children, providing gentle and caring dental treatment, including cleanings and fluoride coatings for 150 people. We understand that dental visits can be daunting, especially for young patients. Our team of compassionate dentists employs various techniques to create a relaxed and positive experience, ensuring that every child leaves with a healthy smile.” One patient expressed gratitude, saying, “I'm so grateful for this opportunity to receive free dental treatment. I’ve learned valuable oral health tips from the expert dentists. Thank you to the dentists and GULF for organizing such a good project.”

GULF Sparks Smiles, a joint initiative with Dent Chula, has been brightening smiles since 2020. By providing free dental services and oral health education, especially in underserved communities, GULF aims to empower individuals and improve their overall well-being. This aligns with GULF’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development under the concept of “Powering the Future, Empowering the People”.
