Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited or GULF presented a central monitor and 10 bedside
monitors to the Police General Hospital for use in the hospital’s intensive care units (ICU). The
presentation follows Gulf Group’s donation of 5 million baht to the hospital in March 2020 to support
the procurement of these medical devices. Mr. Saris Ratanavadi, on behalf of Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi,
Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Energy Development, Public Company Limited, stated, “Gulf Group has
consistently launched and supported various initiatives related to COVID-19, worth over 50 million baht
in total. On this occasion, Gulf Group supported the procurement of patient monitoring devices and is
happy to continue supporting the hospital in the future. The company would also like to thank all
medical personnel for their work in improving the COVID-19 situation in Thailand.”
Pol Lt Gen Witoon Nitiwarangkul, M.D., Director, Police General Hospital, said, “Patient monitoring
devices are crucial for patients requiring critical care and must be used in conjunction with
ventilators. Nurses will analyze information from the central monitor which provides immediate data
about each patient’s blood pressure and oxygen saturation levels without the nurse having to enter the
patient’s room. It is considered a useful and necessary medical device for all patients, not only
COVID-19 patients.”
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gulf Group has provided assistance to various sectors
including supporting the procurement of medical equipment for the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi
Hospital, Mahidol University, Rajavithi Hospital, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, the
Central Chest Institute of Thailand, the Police General Hospital and Buddhachinaraj Hospital; providing
alcohol sanitizing gel to small hospitals in Pattani and Yala provinces; providing 100,000 KN95 medical
masks to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and other hospitals in need; and donating cloth face masks
to sub-district health screening teams in 10 provinces. In addition, Gulf Group is providing over
150,000 meals to poor urban communities across Bangkok and has partnered with EGAT to provide survival
kits for people in Nonthaburi province. Gulf’s aid initiatives have also extended to Thai elephants
suffering during the pandemic through donations to the Aob Chang project. Gulf Group remains committed
to supporting national efforts to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 in Thailand.
