GULF Sparks Strength to Regional Hospitals in Southern Thailand with
KN95 Medical Masks Donation
Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited, led by Mr. Yuttapong
Narkruksa (4th left), Vice President – Engineering, presented the donation of KN95 medical masks to
Songklanagarind Hospital. Assoc. Prof. Roengsak Leetanaporn, M.D., (3rd left), Vice Dean for Hospital
Affairs and Director of Songklanagarind Hospital accepted the donation.
Recently, Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited distributed KN95 medical masks to regional
hospitals in Southern Thailand including Songklanagarind Hospital, Hat Yai Hospital, Chana Hospital,
Vachira Phuket Hospital and Yala Hospital. The donation aims to help keep the COVID-19 situation under
control in a long run and support the operation of medical personnel and frontline workers.
Assoc. Prof. Roengsak Leetanaporn, M.D., Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs and Director of Songklanagarind
Hospital said, “Although the situation has improved with the easing of lockdown measures, but the
medical team still needs to keep the guard up as our medical experts are now working hard on researching
for the benefit of the industry plus the nation. The support of KN95 mask is indeed useful to medical
personnel since it is a necessity that is still scarce until now. The hospital needs to implement
repetitively use these respirators as they need to be washed and sterilized according to hygienic
standards. We would like to thank Gulf Group for realizing the importance of people in medical
industry”
Ms. Kanokporn Ratchapattayakom, M.D., Chana Hospital expressed, “Despite the better situation of the
COVID-19 outbreak, the medical workers need to follow strict guidelines and pandemic monitoring
measures. The medical team of Chana Hospital still work proactively by visiting people at Chana District
Health Promotion Hospital, so these workers are at risk of virus transmission. Therefore, receiving the
KN95 masks could support medical personnel’s duty. On behalf of Chana hospital, I would like to express
appreciation to Gulf Group for your act of kindness and would like to thank you on behalf of patients
too.”
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gulf Group has supported various sectors including supporting
the procurement of medical equipment for the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol
University, Rajavithi Hospital, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, the Central Chest
Institute of Thailand, the Police General Hospital and Buddhachinaraj Hospital; providing alcohol
sanitizing gel to small hospitals in Pattani and Yala provinces; providing 100,000 KN95 medical masks to
King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Phramongkutklao Hospital and Naval Medical Department; and
donating cloth face masks to sub-district health screening teams in 10 provinces. In addition, Gulf
Group has provided meals to poor urban communities across Bangkok and has partnered with EGAT to provide
survival kits for people in Nonthaburi province. Gulf’s aid initiatives have also extended to Thai
elephants suffering during the pandemic through donations to the Aob Chang project. Gulf Group remains
committed to supporting national efforts to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 in Thailand.
