Gulf and Chulalongkorn University Join Forces to Plant Trees on the
Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary
In celebration of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra
Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s 72nd birthday anniversary, Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited
(GULF)
brought volunteers from both the head office and power plants to participate in the “Chulalongkorn
Conserving Forests” project. Organized by the Centre of Learning Network for Region (CLNR),
Chulalongkorn University, the event involved planting over 2,772 of Yang Na trees on 27 rai of land at
the university’s reforestation area in Saraburi Province. This collective effort aims to honor His
Majesty the King’s vision of preserving natural resources and environment by expanding green spaces,
improving air quality, mitigating urban heat, sequestering carbon dioxide, and fostering environmental
stewardship. Mr. Vichai Boonmee, the Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, Asst. Prof. Dr. Noppadon
Kitana, Director of CLNR, teachers, students, locals, and representatives from various organizations
joined the initiative. The Yang Na tree holds special significance as the late HM King Bhumibol
Adulyadej planted it in the demonstration forest area for conservation at Chitralada Royal Villa on 28
July 1961.
