Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) joined forces with the Special Education
Center, Saraburi Province, Kaeng Khoi Service Unit for the International Day of Persons with
Disabilities on December 3, 2024. The collaboration aimed to enhance the physical, emotional, social,
and intellectual development of special children through a variety of engaging activities. The event
featured coloring and storytelling sessions, along with the distribution of ‘hand contracture cushions’
handmade by GULF volunteers to aid in hand muscle exercise and nerve stimulation. Additionally,
educational equipment, snacks, milk, and essential supplies were provided to the children. To create a
more conducive learning environment, GULF also supported classroom renovations and playground
improvements.
Ms. Darunee Moonkhampa, Director of the Special Education Center, Saraburi Province, Kaeng Khoi
Service Unit, shared, “The center was established in 2016. Currently, it cares for 47 special children,
including those with autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and developmental delays. Some
children attend the center daily, while others receive home-based care from the center’s staff. Gulf
Group has been a significant supporter of the center, contributing to educational initiatives, human
resource development, and accessibility for children with special needs. The company has funded the
construction of a school building, playground improvements, and the installation of safety bars and air
conditioning units. Additionally, GULF has consistently organized various activities to enrich the
children’s lives.”
Ms. Jintana Phianrodwong, Head of the service unit, Special Education Center, Saraburi Province,
Kaeng
Khoi Service Unit, expressed gratitude for GULF’s instrumental role in completing the center, “GULF’s
support extended beyond building improvements to include essential learning equipment, toys, and ongoing
activities. During the recent event, GULF volunteers engaged the children in coloring, storytelling, and
physical activities using interactive tools like hand contracture cushions. The volunteers also provided
snacks, milk, supplies, and learning materials. To optimize the learning environment, the center
renovated classrooms to accommodate children with varying needs and upgraded the playground for safety
and enjoyment.”
Ms. Thonglor Chaisu, a parent of a child who receives services at the Special Education Center,
expressed gratitude for the
center’s proximity and support. She highlighted how the center significantly reduces family expenses and
provides valuable educational opportunities for children with special needs. Her child has shown
remarkable progress in self-care skills, object recognition, color identification, and social
interaction. The child’s enthusiasm for attending the center and engaging with peers is a testament to
the positive impact of the program.
